Case Studies

CallTech has installed and supports a number of radio recorders around Australia as well as recorders handling a combination of radio and telephone traffic. Here are some of our radio recording case studies:

Royal Flying Doctors Service

Along with recording telephone conversations, the Red Box recorder at the RFDS Jandakot Operations Centre also records radio traffic from ICOM VHF transceivers and Omnitronics consoles. The radio transmissions are captured by the Red Box recorder across an Omnitronics RoIP network.

South Australia Marine Safety Network

This marine radio network is made up of VHF radios at many locations along the South Australian coast. These are all linked across an Omnitronics Radio over IP network where transmissions are recorded by a CallTech supplied Red Box recording system.

FMG Train Control

This Red Box recorder was installed in 2009 to record train control radio transmissions as well as Cisco telephones so all of the crucial train control conversations would be captured.

Department of Health SHICC

This Red Box voice recorder was installed in 2013 to record a combination of analogue radios and Ericsson digital telephones in the State Health Incident Coordination Centre.

Pilbara Ports Authority, Port Hedland

Installed at the beginning of 2014 to record radio transmissions on the VoIP network at Australia’s busiest port along with Telstra TIPT phone calls.

Water Police Fremantle

This recorder connects to a Zetron radio dispatch console to record transmissions on the marine radio network. This is a 24/7 police branch responsible for boating operations, diving operations and sea search and rescue in Western Australian waters. This Red Box recorder also records calls to the Water Police Panasonic telephones.
